Patchwork Lamp No. 2
A collaboration between In Lieu of Writing and the artist Oliver Bernsen.
Raw iron-flecked stoneware thrown on the wheel, wired with brass hardware and cloth cord. Hand sewn patchwork shade on splattered drop cloth.
The shades in this series are created using drop cloths Bernsen painted sporadically on over the past twelve years. The drop cloths are then cut to measure, and enhanced using scraps of individually sourced deadstock fabrics from around the world. This particular shade is highlighted with 19th century English textiles of orange silk, yellow velvet, and oat linen. 19.5”H X 12”W
