A collaboration between In Lieu of Writing and the artist Oliver Bernsen.
Raw iron-flecked stoneware thrown on the wheel, wired with brass hardware and cloth cord. Hand sewn Persian prayer rug shade.
This lamp shade was made using 150 year old fabric that was originally hand woven in Iran for individual use as traveling prayer rugs. The small textile company was run by the same family for over six generations, and although the family’s surname has been lost to history, their work lives on in this new form. 19.5”H X 10”W
